First Attempt Working With Fondant

I was asked to do cupcakes for a Selena Gomez themed birthday party. So after a while of research and planning I finally came up an idea :) The customer wanted eggless chocolate cupcakes ( refer to my previous post for that recipe) with a basic chocolate buttercream frosting. To make it Selena Gomez-ified I made party picks. Essentially it's those longer toothpicks with a cute picture of Ms. Gomez stuck . They really held up well and I was pleased with the general look of them. I also decided to add fondant stars just to stick to the theme . So i purchased the Wilton's Neon Colours Fondant Pack.  The experience with the fondant was a good one. The colours of the fondant were great as they fit in great with the theme. The taste however, wasn't my favourite. But then again, I really don't fancy the taste of fondant on the whole whether it is from Wilton or otherwise. I must say though I am yet to make my own batch of fondant ....maybe from marshmallows?  I may like the taste then. The fondant itself was super easy to work with so I will definitely be experimenting further with it.

Here are some of the pictures of the Selena Gomez cupcakes!
